Burbank Human Relations Council

About Burbank Human Relations Council

Across nearly 70 years, the Burbank Human Relations Council has hosted forums and dialogues, vigils and remembrances, and offered other opportunities for community engagement through cultural field trips and student education. We have sponsored The Diary of Anne Frank production at The Colony Theatre so that local students can learn the history of the Holocaust and we host DAYS OF REMEMBRANCE events in partnership with local faith leaders. We print and distribute HATE HAS NO HOME HERE/CHOOSE LOVE BE KIND yard and window signs and partner with the Burbank Unified School District to get posters with that message into every BUSD classroom. We work with the city to write Proclamations in recognition of minority groups and wrote the SUNDOWN TOWN RESOLUTION in 2020 that made Burbank the 4th city in the country to acknowledge our history and to commit to being more inclusive in the future. The Resolution hangs on the wall of Burbank's City Hall.
